The Furnishing Achievements Program is a 501c3 non-profit organization which provides basic furniture needs to families demonstrating a need and a willingness to participate in an ongoing effort with an organization or agency to alleviate the circumstances they are currently experiencing.
Requests must come from a social service, educational or medical organization working or willing to work directly with the family. These requests must communicate the exact need, the basis for the request and how the family will benefit from the donation. The organization submitting the request must also provide an action plan demonstrating the steps they are collectively working on with the family to encourage self-sufficiency.
All requests must be in writing, either on a BFW Institute of Research & Education Request Form, or on letterhead. We are limited to providing a family with one request per year, and to providing an organization with a total of five family requests per year.
The BFW Institute of Research & Education significantly increased the amount of donations to families in need by working with organizations such as Lutheran Social Services, Catholic Charity Agencies, Crisis Nurseries, Inc., and numerous county social service agencies and churches. We have assisted 185 families with beds, kitchen tables and chairs, dressers and couches, along with other many other miscellaneous necessary furniture items.
Each year a golf tournament is held to raise funds for this program, with a variety of sponsorship packages available. There is also an auction and cash donation options for your contribution.
