On March 14, 2008 I turned 65 years old! What an eye-opener. It was 15 years ago that my family, friends, and employees put on a big party for my 50th birthday and at that time I thought I was really old. Well, it seems like I blinked and 15 years later I am 65. I guess that is still young when you compare that age to a family member of mine who is 97 this year. I do realize that as another blink goes by I will be 80 years old. What's the point? I have been trying to do non-profit and charity work for the past 25 years, but do not feel I have done enough and I also feel I have been given the vision, passion, & gifts to do way more in the next "blink". (15 years and forward!!)
I have set up three non-profit organizations which I feel have helped people and that have great needs that are not fully being met by society. You can review our website. (not completed, but it will give you an idea of some of our plans).
A.) BFW Institute of Research and Education - 501c3 1.) Furnishings Achievements 2.) Samaritan - "A lot doing a little" 3.) Complimentary and Traditional Medical Research, Education and Grants (all professionals must work together)
B.) Community Health & Wellness - non-profit wellness program. This does part of the medical piece of the 501c3.
C.) Huseby Family Foundation - personal giving and self funding from personal assets.
I know that most people would want to do more to help people in need, however the dynamics of life in many ways does not allow people the time or resources to accomplish their vision or goals. I would like to request your help in forming a partnership to accomplish the goal of helping people in the areas I have listed. These cover the most urgent needs that we see in requests that come to us for help. 1.) Furnishings Achievements - Homeless and basic shelter & furnishing needs to people who first accomplish a goal with a sponsoring 501c3. 2.) Samaritan - Children, elderly and one time contributions to organizations which will give ongoing benefits. 3.) Community Health and Wellness - Health Freedom, Research, Education and Grants.
In summary, I will do the work to help coordinate these urgent needs. I would like you to give financial support so "A lot of people doing a little can add up to a big deal" for helping those in need.
Fundraising and appeals A.) Golf Outing - This supports all areas of giving. B.) Medical Research, education and grants - "Health care is one of our Countries biggest problems. We feel there are many solutions not being considered or not being given as an option to the doctor and patient." C.) Samaritan appeals - "One time investment which gives an ongoing benefit". When we come across a need that is not being addressed we would like to get it met by our Samaritan Group. My goal would be to have 5000 Samaritans that would give $25.00 - $1,000.00 (per project or annually) for funding these urgent needs. You can see that we could "do a lot with a little" from you. 5000 people giving $25 = $125,000 5000 people giving $50 = $250,000 5000 people giving $200 = $1,000,000
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and for letting me share my vision with you. Please consider my partnership.
Sincerely,
Doug Huseby
